I am making a tactical space combat RPG using LPC art assests, and I have noticed a huge lack of sci-fi art assets. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could create some assets, so me and others like me can use them in the future! ;D
To be honest I don't mind what you create as long as it fits a sci-fi setting, but what we need is:
1) Military unitform
2) Military jumpsuit (Think X-Com)
3) Civilan Cloths
1) Machine gun
2) Shotgun
3) Rifle
4) Sniper Rifle
5) Pistol
6) Lazer gun
7) Lazer pistol
1) Humanoid Alien
- Non-humanoid Alien
2) Humanoid Robot
- Non-humanoid Robot
Yes, I know its a huge list, and no I don't expect one person to do everything! I just made this list of things that we are lacking and hoping some talented artist feel inspired to add to the already great LPC database. ;D
Would you have any references for how the interior of a starship/spacestation might look? I'm really more of a fantasy person than sci-fi so I don't know where to start.
I have a suggestion, if anyone is going to work on this, it might be neat if it was seamless to this pack http://opengameart.org/content/lpc-skorpios-scifi-sprite-pack
Realm of Justice, have you checked out UFO:AI?

I submitted a few hundred assets to help them reach their goal of having all their art under one open source licence, which they recently reached!
While they are 3d assets, you could rig up a blender camera to render them in a way you can use, Clint Bellanger uses sprites made from blender models in FLARE and has written tutorials which could help you set it up.

You could even use his engine to make a scifi game, or just pitch in on freedroid

If you want to make a 2d scifi game, there are plenty of open source scifi projects out there, that you can either use or contribute to.
