Before you start reading or commenting, yes, I know that their material can't be posted on OGA (due to their license).
My question is: Have any of you used or know how to properly use their art?
Their stuff is so well done it's hard to pass up.
Their license seems all over the place, I get the impression they don't know about any common licenses like Creative Commons, GPL, MIT, etc.
I wonder if they'd be willing to use a conventional license for their graphics if I sent them an email... Worth a shot. I'll drop them a line and include a link to the CC licenses page. There's no Japanese translation that I can see so I sent them the English version (their site has an English version, maybe they speak English?).
It's always that archiving/uploading to other sites thing with self-written licenses, it seems. I can understand why people wouldn't want their own site to become redundant, but of course this particular requirement is incompatible with any of the licenses here. I have a feeling that they'll be unwilling to budge on that.
The graphics do look great, though, and they would be a nice addition to the site.
It's all stuff for RPG Maker anyway, nearly all RTP edits, so it's doubly not compatable.
EDIT:
Yeah.. its all RPG maker stuff. After reading the terms over again and comparing some of the tilesets(non-VX), it was fairly obvious. I feel a bit stupid, though I'm glad Sharm caught it before I used any of it. It seemed a little too good to be true anyway. Ugh.. why does RPG maker art have to be so useless..
I think it's edits of the RPG Maker 2000 RTP, but I'm not sure. If so there's no legal way to use that in the US since it was never released here. I'm no expert though, if you want to be certain I'd go to the official RPG Maker forums and ask.
I'm pretty sure it's RPG Maker '95? Idk.. I don't think it really matters. I found a few objects in them that are almost identical with a 32X32 tileset for RPGMaker.. thus I figure if anything it's all custom but they took the inspiration from RPGMaker. Plus, with how they licensed it, they already give all credit to Enterbrain so it doesn't really matter. I originally thought that the statement about RPG maker only refered to the VX material. Either way, thanks. That's why I always ask you guys :).
Yep, no problem!
Am I missing something here? They claim that resources: "Although our resources are for RPG Tkool 2000*1, you can use them for a original programming game, for your website, for a movie, for a screen saver, etc."
And meaning of *1:
*1 : "RPG Tkool" series is the registered trademark of ASCII,Inc. and ENTERBRAIN,Inc. The companies do not approve the software called "maker" series ("RPGMaker2K", "RM95", etc.) distributed by the illegal act, and so we forbid use of our resources for such software. "RPGツクール" series is the registered trademark of ASCII,Inc. and ENTERBRAIN,Inc. This website is not related at all to the company which develops or sells "RPGツクール" series. This website shall not be liable for any damage arising out of your use of this website.
So I do not understand where they give credit to ENTERBRAIN. I understand license does not allow the redistribution. But it can be still used in closed-source project and only in closed-source project. The reason why I am asking is that I am using their tileset in my own project.

And I also found this from RPGMaker forum:

So I am pretty sure First Seed Material is done by REFMAP aka FSM.
