Ron Kapaun from the Torque3D community just announced that all art packs from his store are now free for download.

I asked him what the license is, since "free" is not very clear and he added that he releases them into the public domain, this may be the biggest free-release of high quality 3D-art assets so far, so I just wanted to inform you, maybe someone wants to put them up here later or so, since his site may not be online forever.
That is a pleasant surprise, will these be available as Project GREED modules?

No, these are art packs ready to use for Torque3D, nothing engine or gameplay related.
Yes, a pleasent surprise, at least for others, for him it was more a social media suicide, at least I hope this will help the game development community now.
Yeah, I think he over reacted a bit (and I am partially at fault it seems, as his direct quote is from me).
I am seriously bandwidth limited here, but we should definilty try to get a OGA mirror of these going.

Could anyone with a better internet connection please upload them to OGA now that the original mirror is offline (as expected)?
My connection really sucks (I am currently in Uganda) and I didn't even manage to download them all :(

I don't know what happend, seemed he did not really wanted the stuff to be free, since he deleted all his posts, also he got angry at my post here, maybe he did not like advertisement, everything you say to him he interprets as criticism or insult, so I guess there is not much we can do.
As long it is not sure what he wants, I would not take it openly up somewhere.
I have looked at the link's postings. Is this a regular conversation over there? Since the author never stated a CC license and as such being irrevocable no one who has downloaded something there can actually use it. Don't get me wrong it's his stuff, he can do as he choses.
No, it is not a regular conversation, it is just him at the moment. Yes I know that a non specific license is useless, so I asked him to make it more specific and then he said it is public domain, but did not really use a CC license which was my intention, but since he always got angry at me I did not dare to ask again, but even a CC license would not make things 100% sure, it is still just a workaround.
