Trying to improve my digital painting skills and the proper use of brushes ;)

Tried out some of the brushes in this set: http://velvetcat.deviantart.com/art/Velvetcat-s-Brush-Set-136442692 - there are a lot of interesting brushes to play around with.
The birds were taken from this set: http://midnightstouch.deviantart.com/art/Birds-of-a-Feather-II-301180304

I like it! I don't know what the 'spider web' like lines are called. I mean I don't know if that style has a specific name, but I like it! It gives the image a very abstract quality. Is that just an effect created by the brush you used for the hills/mountains? The only con I'd have is that the style doesn't carry through everything in the image. But then maybe it's better than way....
Super cool! I love how the realism is implyed, and I've never seen a drawing style like that done so well.
Thank you for your comments ;) Yes, the effect was done with a specific brush from the set on top of the finished mountains. I wanted to give them some interesting additional random texture.
This is just amayzing , do u make game art for free or paid only :D
Thanks ^^ I do not have much experience in making game art. I like good old 2D art in games and put something together from time to time and put it on envato or here. Currently I am working on some little project together with capbros (http://opengameart.org/users/capbros) where we have no specific schedule. Do you have something specific in mind?
We used this EPIC image as the main menu background for the best free android game ever made, Muulore's Quest! Done in only 15 hours using open game art assets, check it out!

Cool, I will give it a try this evening and hope my finger reflexes are good enough for an action title on the tablet ^^
@gamejammers: Hey, I recognize those skeletons and goblins too! ;)
Glad they were of use! :)
This is a nice little piece. I've used it with an audio release of one of my tracks via Youtube. Attribution and link to this page added to the description of course. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZksgvB3Nvw
