8 bit funding ?

Hello,
As Flare is getting better and more popular with every release i thought that maybe development could be boosted by some funding?
There is nice page for organizing funding of game projects:
http://www.8bitfunding.com/index.php
As example - that projcect gained nice funding http://www.8bitfunding.com/project_details.php?p_id=65
Thanks to youtube videos and working, playable versions, ppl could see that FLARE is indeed interesting project. So probably it has high chances to get funding.
Of course, another question is if FLARE needs funding at all? And how it could be spent? What do you think?
Pretty much all up to Pfunked. I am here to help him in where I can help. I am pretty sure he should get some money out of it because of how much work he has put into it. If any money goes into it, it should go all to him. He can choose whether to pay someone for certain criteria of open source content. But I am not even sure pfunked wants to get funding from it.

Maybe such money could be spent on creating new art resources for FLARE - like icons for inventories, for powers etc. That art could be then submitted to opengameart too. So, such funding would be useful for FLARE, opengameart and whole foss game community.
OGA has recently started doing targeted fundraisers, and I'm happy to submit Flare items for fundraising.
So let's be frank here. I have a full-time job that I enjoy (writing code, not game-related). It pays the bills plus some. I also have a girlfriend of 5 years; we spend a lot of time together. In whatever time remains, if any, that's when Flare gets progress.
I don't expect to make money from the game -- except in the form of a tip jar perhaps (Flattr is fine for that), or maybe selling game-related items (my best idea so far: selling high quality cloth maps of the game world!). If I were jobless I'd definitely be trying to make some kind of money from this. But given my current situation, I'm basically able to do Flare in my free time without any worries of money. I have used my own money to fund a few essential art assets, and most of it has gone to OGA artists.
What Flare will need, and soon, is a ton of art assets. Right now Flare has only 2 tilesets (dungeon, cave) and even those could use many additions. Flare essentially has 5 monsters (goblin, zombie, skeleton, minotaur, antlion) and those could use several more animations and variations. I'll try to put together a list of most-wanted assets soon.
That list would be great, particularly if you outlined some assets which might be helpful in making tilesets.
If an artist would like to get work for flare and earn money, they could suggest to pfunked that they create a campagin "Fund the creation of 5 tilesets for FLARE!" or something like that and figure out what a reasonable price is.
I'm fine with artists starting their own campaigns like that. Justin raised a nice amount of money to create portraits for Flare (they will also be posted on OGA as they're completed), and that money went towards his tuition. I helped with his campaign because I saw his portfolio and knew he would produce professional-quality work.
If you're thinking about making a large asset for Flare, keep me in the loop. I'm somewhat picky/critical about what I want in Flare's main repo -- not everything in Flare is amazing, but most or all of it is at least decent. If it's an area I don't know much about, I'll get someone else on the project to judge for me (e.g. Brandon might review any music contributed to Flare).
Note: not all pre-rendered assets can just be dropped in to Flare. The assets have to be the right size/scale, have the correct variations (e.g. walls turned certain ways, monsters with specific animations), shadows have to point the correct direction, and even the amount of "grain" in the renders adds to the feel of Flare (e.g. CatRom or Mitch oversampling filters).
