All based on frequency modulation.

The package includes the following files:

Files are corrupted somehow. Not even VLC can play them.

Must be something wrong on your side. Corrupt download or something.

I've just downloaded it and everything works fine. They're all standard 44.1/16bit WAV files.

Try downloading them again.

Maybe try DLing them from freesound: http://www.freesound.org/people/zandernoriega/packs/10063/
