Greetings,
I'm currently working on a game project which I want to release on Kongregate as soon as its ready. I dont plan on earning money with it, but to have a nice thing to look at on my resumè. I swore to myself that I dont want the game to be too complicated, but I always fail keeping it simple. So here I am needing someone to draw a few Sprites for me. My main goal is to create a simple gain where I can point to on my resumè, so we most likly wont get any money out of it.
What type of game is it?
The game is a typical idle game which involves clicking and trying to maximize the potiential money gain. The setting is placed in a medieval/fantasy smithy and revolves around creating products, mining special ores and improving your crafting hammer followed up by lots and lots of different upgrades to add a little bit of spice. The game is already playable but still lacks a lot of balancing.
How does it look so far?
Lots and lots of pixel art. I always loved the way pixel art games look and feel. Maybe its nostalgic, maybe not. But no one can deny that pixel art makes you work with as little as possible and I think this kind of workflow makes you use just as much creativite as complex 3D art. Here is a screenshot how the game looks like at the moment.
(dont worry, its not just a picture - the game works)
What do I want from you?
My main concern is getting all the products drawn. Since this game is an idle game I need lots of different items a fantasy medieval blacksmith can craft. From horseshoes and nails to a magical breastplate and giant claymores. Furthermore the items quality level should be fairly balanced, so the crazy stuff should come at the end of course. The size for the products is 64x64 pixels and I need at least about 100 products. You should create a sprite atlas to place all items on a single texture file. You can work with whatever program you choose as long as you can export PNG. You have the freedom to make up items on your own if you like to. But I can also make a list if you prefer.
example of a few items:
Whats more to say?
If you want to work with me contact me here and show me some examples of your skill. Preferably something in the 64x64 pixel range. If you have any questions, ask right away.
Have a nice day.

Hiya,
I am only just beggining to learn to do pixel art myself, Im currently trying to draw my own art for my game.
I have drawn a series of buildings 64x64 (Whole Sheet.png)
Yes I know they could be better i have not had a chance to edit them further yet.
Although I think they look ok I am trying to draw with more detail at 128 x 128 for my game i am building, I have started to draw an isometric house (house added recoloured 2 resized.png)
To conclued my reply I was wondering if i could have say a list of 5 items to start and give it a go at drawing some items for you, i will not require any payment at all, even if you do make money from it. Same as you it would look great if i can say my drawings/sprites are used in a game

If you give a list then il have a go at creating some when I've got the chance, good to work from a list. :)
il release public domain, so if you want you can use if needed and so can others.

Hey Ninjadog
Really like the shape of that spearhead. You could work on your shading a little bit. Since this is metal Im missing the brightspots and reflections a bit. I forgot to tell that I need the outline to be black in almost all cases. This has to do with a glow effect I try to implement in the game, and it looks much better with black outlines. But since Im not completly sure if this feature will make it to the game, its not that important.
I took the spearhead and messed a little bit around with it to show you what I mean with the shading part. I really appreaciate the work you do, and I think we can both learn a lot here.
(I guess you should open that pic with a graphic tool, since this site tends to compress the pics)
Hiya,
Thanks for your feedback and showing me what you need, as i said I am new to pixel art myself, so any pointers is good for me.
I will work on the hammer next and will post when i am done
Best Regards

Hi, sorry for my late respose.
I like your sword, should fit the rest pretty well. Im not using a particular colour palette. Just not too saturated colors to keep the tone more "realistic".
