Hi everyone. I haven't been around much at all for the past few years, but randomly came across this asset by "FiveAsOne".

Or at most partially by FiveIsOne, because it is using components taken from an enemy in Megaman X.
From skimming through other sprites I'm spotting other edits (including some nemeis from FF6), and I have flagged all his stuff as having licensing issues. I don't have specific examples for each one, some might even be clean, but I don't think any of his art can be trusted.
I have no idea why you'd do something like this, it's really bad for the site and anyone trying to make a game with properly licensed assets.
I don't remember how to ban someone anymore, but I'd recommend it.

FiveAsOne had posted a lot of great stuff, a good bit of it did look pretty original too. Skull scorpion comes to mind as a personal favorite. Personally, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and say the derivative works were just a result copying a little too closely when learning from the masters and/or not knowing about or understanding OGA's 'no copyrighted materials' policy. There are so many fan art sites and stuff that take a much softer line on this that it's easy to see how someone could find OGA and post materials without realizing they were violating OGA policy.
But as you say, one way or the other, they are definitely not suitable for OGA and have to go. Just a bummer is all.

You're kind of an asshole.
These sprites have been on the site for months, and you clearly have some vendetta against his works. I dare say this one may be close, but come on...Nemesis from FF6? Because the shading is similar? I think you are reaching. Honestly, if there was a real issue, it would have come up by the devs on the site either way.
Flag his "suggested edits", but don't outright ban him because of false accusations.

I found multiple instances of frankensteined/edited commercial assets in their work, not just the one posted. This is another one I made a gif of:
You can't take other people's work like this and claim it as your own. You especially can't claim explicit legal ownership of it and guarantee to the users of this site that they can legally use these assets in their games when they can, in fact, not.
I have a decent familiarity with megaman x and final fantasy enemies because of my background, but none of us can spot every asset like this from every possible source. In spite of our best efforts this site has to operate to some extent on trust, and we can't trust an artist who will use commercial assets like this.
