This is a modification of Antifarea / CharlesGabriel's great OGA monsters entry that lets you do dynamic lighting on the 2D sprites when used in combination with a shader. I've included an example render along with the 2D normal map.

I created the normal map using the beta version of Sprite DLight (I'm one of the Kickstarter backers). It was Greenlit on Steam if anyone's interested in it. (note: I have no affiliation with Sprite DLight other than being a pleased Kickstarter backer).
