2D environment art for sci-fi game

2D environment art for sci-fi game

Hi,

I’m looking for a skilled & reliable artist to create some top down environment art for an update of an existing PC game. The game is based on Mars, in the not too distant future, and the purpose of the art will be to add variety to the game world.

In addition to a credit in the game, which is currently available, I can offer a monetary payment. This game studio is new and small, so while the payment won’t be huge, we’ll do our best to come to a fair arrangement.

If you’d like to check out the game to get a feel for the art style, you can find a trailer here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOTuXE…

Art is required for the following, but there may be more. Send me a message with your email if you would like some reference images to get a rough idea, and you can also check out the game's screenshots @ www.deadstonegame.com/media

Dome House

·         This is a living quarters for a colonist on Mars. Since the attacks, these Domes have been abandoned, as the population has retreated underground to the main colony.

·         They should be presented from a top down perspective. Should have a high-tech feel and have a door & windows.

·         Resolution is 1024 x 1024.

·         For some general ideas please see attached images. Terrain textures have also been included.

·         These domes could be white, with a light coat of brown dust on them.

·         They could have antennae for communications, and a skylight.

Solar Power Array

·         These could be put at intervals between the domes to add extra variety.

·         See attached images for ideas.

·         Resolution: The height and width do not need to be the same, but ideally should be a power of 2 (maybe around 256) according to their scale in relation to the domes.

Water Tank

·         A tank for storing liquid.

·         Could be a little rusted, and perhaps have some writing on it.

·         The tank should be 2 – 3 times as long as it is wide, and in proportion to the dome.

·         Resolution: around (256 x 384) by (512 x 1024)

Ideally, this would be done within the next few weeks, and you must be willing to transfer full rights and ownership of the work. You will, of course, retain the right to display the work as part of your portfolio, once the update is launched.

If you are interested in this work, please drop me a pm, and provide an estimate, broken down by piece, if possible. If you happen to have done any work in a similar vein, I’d love to see it, so please send a link. Feel free to also link any existing work which you feel would give me an indication of the quality of art to expect. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you.
