OA3 Concept Art
Hi
OA3's a branch. Simply recapping, it's intended to unsuck the artwork by doing from scratch with a quality control aspect and a clarity aspect. You might think "oh why reinvent the wheel we have enough arena shooters", but OA in its current state is a mess and doesn't suit the fast gameplay well.
In the early steps i'm focusing "Bare essentials" first, which includes:
- The standard 10 arena weapons
- Game goal entities, such as Point A/B, flag, flag base, skull, overload core, maybe chicken.
- Main generic anime male powersuit soldier character, hardcoded as "Sarge", but doesn't have to be a Sarge.
Missionpack essentials
- The 3 additional weapons (prox mine launcher, chaingun, nail gun)
- Kamikaze items, the runes (Scout/Doubler/Ammo Regen/), Spherical orby shield item
- Exaggerated and versatile Female and Male anime base meshes, 4 heads each
I'm mostly having trouble with weapon concepts, but here's some help for that, as i've made an OBJ file with bounding boxes for weapon shapes as a guide, to not exceed and perhaps help align into the model editor when the time comes to produce a model. I'm after unrealistic proportioned weapons with clear shape reading to identify in silhouettes. Should only really a long barrel for high damage weapons (railgun, bfg, rocket launcher)
