NOTE: this is useless, see comment below
I often convert scalable vector graphics to pixel art using GIMP. The method I use to flatten the image & remove semitransparent pixels is to duplicate the layer & merge it down multiple times. I created this GIMP plugin to simplify the process.
Description:
A simple GIMP plugin that duplicates & merges down the current layer multiple times in order convert semitransparent pixels to opaque without losing/changing color.
Usage:
<Menu> Layer -> Transparency -> Semitransparency to Opaque

Well, I just stumbled across how to do this with Layer -> Transparency -> Threshold Alpha.... So, this is useless. :-\
