The following is a graphic set, currently in a work in progress state, created by Bon Ink Creations for use in the development of video games. The purpose of this thread is to get feedback from the community here in order to create a pack that is both appealing and versatile.
The pack is being designed to be instantly compatible with the RMXP engine, and is intended to be released under a CC license.
Please look through the pictures below and if necessary download the pack in order to give your opinions on the art.
This section is reserved for when opinions are needed on an element or component of something. Rather then the work as a whole.
Techniques on how to properly draw a mountain then shade it would be great. Opinions on why it looks wonky would be great too. Even though it is 'wrong' it's still incompleted, because the technique being used to emulate a mountain face appeared off, thus opinions became needed.
This graphic is intended to be used on the world map tileset.
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
When the pack is completed and officially published the no derivitives will be removed. For the time being, it's preferred that until the graphics are in a more completed state, that no variations are created and circulated. You may make edits and post them here in order to show examples of improvements, ideas, or general explanation of techniques if it becomes necessary. Also upon pack completion there will be a commercially ready license available for purchase at a 1 time flat rate that covers the pack at the time of purchase and future updates.
Although the tilesets are made available on this thread, it is highly recommended that no developer use them to develop a game yet, since positioning and overall existence may change. For the time being, it is best to use the tilesets as a guide line, or mock version of areas until the pack is officially released. This will avoid having to recreate maps.
Please do not submit any edited work for the time being. The only exception would be if you wish to demonstrate a technique or example of alteration to be demonstrated then completed by Bon Ink Creations.
Please remember this is a work in progress and is no where near completion. In addition when giving comments, remember to comment on the art itself, rather then the screenshot/object placement.
Anyone who gives constructive crtitism that is used to better the pack will be credited in the 'Feedback' section of the project credits upon release of the pack. Any opinions are welcome, but if you dislike something please stop to think 'why?' first, then also include that. Ultimately if you decide you don't like something in the pack but can't put your finger on why, that's okay, but the why is very important when giving constructive critism.
Thank you for your time.
