Hi everyone.
I am new here and got a question right away:
Can anyone point me to any tutorial that focuses specifically on 2D top view character creation (Like GTA 1 and 2)? I am capable of getting sufficient results when doing dead things (spaceships, cars, buildings), but when it comes to living things, like humanoids or animals I don't even know where to start.
I am not really an artist, never was, but allthough what is shared here and at other places is great work mostly, it doesn't quite fit what I am looking for, so I decided to go ahead and try to make the art I need myself, so I can finally start making my own game ideas a reality instead of doing tutorials with provided art over and over.
I already went through the general 2D Art tutorial by LesForges, which is quite awesome (I advise any one else that's new to doing 2D Pixel Art to go ahead and make it your first read).
Any help is much appreciated.
@Chrithu-
I don't know of a good tutorial for top view, but here is a human sprite you can either use (cc-by 3.0) or model your own character after.

If you want'd 3/4 view, that is totally different of course :).
Hey cjc83486,
thanks, perspective-wise that's exactly what I am talking about. But for the finished thing I was looking for something higher resolution like 64x64 at least preferably at 128x128 level.
Anyhow this will suffice to put together a quick and dirty prototype to show off the gameplay I have in mind.
Thanks a lot.
P.S.: Not to be misunderstood I am still thankful if anybody knows of any tutorial and can point me to it. It cannot hurt to pick up at least some basics even if I am absolutely into programming and not into art.

@yd
Awesome. Thanks a lot. Also it is Inkscape/Vector Graphic which I feel a lot more comfortable with than painting singular pixels one by one ;-). The visual Style used in the tutorial also perfectly fits what I have in mind.
Note: The Link seems to be faulty, it leads to an empty page, but I found the blog post by looking it up myself.
Anyhow thank you so so much, this helps me tremendously.
