Tiny (16x16) character animation/poses for open-source space combat/trading game

I'm making a space combat/trading game called Starfarer.  You fly around the galaxy, buying and selling goods, fighting off pirates (or becoming a pirate and attacking innocent freighters), engaging in missions and side-quests, and upgrading your ship until you're rich enough to buy your own moon somewhere and retire.

Our crew at this point is represented by the attached little pixel guy, which I drew (inspired by _Faster Than Light_ and some concept discussions kicked around on the Unity forums).  I've also attached a blown-up image of the sprite sheet so you can see it better here.  I'm pleased with how he came out!  But all he can do is stand and walk; that's about the limit of my artistic abilities.

I'd like additional poses:

  • "operating something": probably arms out in front, moving up and down as if he is pushing buttons or pulling levers
  • "fixing something": literally banging whatever's in front of him with a wrench.

Starfarer is open-source, hosted at GitHub here.  We're just a couple of hobbyists building our dream space-trading-and-combat game.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
