I am not worried about submission qualities, sometimes they are what you are looking for. However, having a way to combine disjoint submissions would be a good idea. Its hard to deal with single submissions, and collections doesnt seem to be the kind of tool for the job.
Anthony: if you just want "just dont claim as yours", you can use CC-By. GPL is not very suitable for art. For instance you also should share the "source code" for your art.
Witches and warlocks are not crowded, just 2 sets (recolors even) would do fine I guess. Monks are more important but recolors of standard robes will do just fine.
I havent said anything for the name right? Partially because I simply call it Kujasa or Trimak to avoid tipping the players.

@surt: I guess you have never seen our game from LPC: Trouble in Libreland
1.5k vertex limit is pretty limiting for many applications, 5k would be a more realistic limit. If time allows I will participate.
CC0 allows relicensing, so if you choose than one others are redundant.
There are many nice UI layouts here on OGA, why dont you try them?
Why not transparent background? Having a fixed background color limits their usablity.
Adding animations at this point would be a huge undertaking, but there was a list I made during LPC, here it is:
1. Slash (present)
2. Casting (present)
3. Bow aim/fire (present)
4. Throw (dart, stone, granade)
5. Two handed swing
6. Thrust (present)
7. Pick up
8. Carry torch/flag (last frame of slash is suitable)
9. Swim
10. Stair ascend/decend
These are new but some can be don with existing frames:
11. Cannot comply
12. Victory
13. Jump
14. Comfirm
15. Sit (single frame might be enough)

William, we already have a mace animation somewhere.
