No problem Redshrike , i was more hoping for tips and advice since i am trying to do them myself, for example I am having alot of trouble getting any Good looking human heads , they all seem wrong so far...
FOr my xcom mod, i can live with not owning my work , i had to make it look like the original artwork to match. However i have found i really like doing this stuff so i will need to keep practising to suport this site later.

I am only just learing gimp ( And Art in general) so i will definelty look into blending and masking , right now i am in love with the burn tool.
As for the copyright thing, i am not sure what would happen , Openxcom requires orignal install to play ( as all the graphics and sounds come from that) my work is kinda a free fanbased mod/upgrade . Seriously its been 18years since its release , would they really hunt me down?
He still needs more work but tonight i could not resist haveing a go at the Zombie , honestly it still needs alot of work but i am having fun playing with it.
Yes i tried contacting the email addy of XCOM TTS but no responce, that project was abanadoned so i was hopeful i could at least look at the art from it, but i cant find a download anywhere for the game.
So any Pixel artist want to help , you would have my eternal gratitude :)
Also i am unsure IF i am allowed to make a second art request in the 2d section , so for now i will hold off. I have tried emailing 1 or 2 talented members but also no responce. Maybe noone love the classic Xcom as much as i do :(
No i cant just you a colour and replace as they need to be completly different to the example above as there got different cloths and style. Attached is 2 GANGs in my collection , both still need work to get right but i would love a inventory image that brings them to life. The only reason i was able to change the sprites was because theres only a small number of pixels, the inentory images are to complex for me to draw anything that looks good.
There is the possability that i could pay the artist alittle something for his work , what is a fair rate ? I would of liked to get these for free as they are of no finiancial benifit to anyone:( There would be atleast 6 of these all up. Finish product must match original games feel , also game has limited colour pallet so must be compatable. If your interested ilet me know.
Would be nice to make something for ALL the aliens later also , but first things first , lets focus on the humans.

I tried a differnt approach , i tried scaling up a battlescape sprite, lets just say its on par with the one i tried to draw by hand :(
