LPC Tileset wishlist

LPC Tileset wishlist

Hi all,

We've got a robust conversation happening elsewhere that's mostly about the character sprites https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/improving-lpc , I wanted to share a few ideas I have for expanding the tilesets and get input on what others would be interested in/like to see.

A few ideas I have been considering:

- Making more diverse/viable biomes: right now we could make sort of grasslands, forest, maybe jungle, mountainous/rocky, snowy, desert. I'd like to expand those (for instance, I've posted WIP cactuses and more succulents for the desert here https://opengameart.org/sites/default/files/forum-attachments/beach-dese...), but also add some new ones: grassland savanna, shrubland (Mediterranean/Garrigue/Chaparral), tundra (needs more snowy plants, patchy grass), taiga, wetlands (bog/swamp/marsh). I'd love to hear suggestions about this!
- Adding more variation to common terrain types (e.g. grass, dirt, snow, rock): I've posted some examples here for grass https://opengameart.org/sites/default/files/forum-attachments/grass-test... , but the general idea is to add more interest/variation to those terrains.
- Adding furniture/decorations/objects for specific rooms (e.g. kitchen, bathroom, study, etc.) or shops/occupations (e.g. tailor, blacksmith, innkeep/tavern, brewer, alchemist, etc.)
- Full-featured sailing ship(s)

Of course, I'm also interested in continuing/expanding on some of my existing projects:

- More animated crops and fruit trees
- More plant foliage (including forage-able herbs) and more realistic trees
- Adapting the general-purpose furniture sets to be more versatile (more combinations of shelves/counters/cabinets/desks, making sure it's easy to place items on various tables/shelves, making sure chairs line up with tables, etc.)

What do you think? What are you working on? What do you feel is missing from the LPC tilesets? What would be most useful for your game?
