LPC-style squirrel walkcycle (and toss?)
LPC-style squirrel walkcycle (and toss?)
One of the additional dungeons for Polymorphable is currently in the planning phases, and it's going to be based around a squirrel polymorph. The heroine will be running through the forest, as a squirrel, touching some statues of some sort (or maybe little cakes labelled "EAT ME" like Alice in Wonderland) to switch back and forth from Squirrel form to normal form. She'll be fighting bees and snakes, hurling acorns at them to stun or damage them. If you want to create an acorn as well, that'd be cool, and more than likely, even a single frame for an acorn would be enough.
Polymorphable is still hosted over at github, https://github.com/pennomi/polymorphable. Look for the hunter on the western road out of town to say "hello" to the questgiver. No fee offered for this, just hoping that further contributions to the LPC art style will be enough encouragement!
Hi Makrohn,
I won't prevent anyone from doing new funny animals for the LPC, but you might be interested by this, at least temporarily (GPLv2):

Best regards,
I think most of the mana world stuff is pretty LPC2012 (we need some sort of shorthand for that) style-guide compliant. If it works and matches, I ought to use it!
Edit: A lot of tmw stuff looks much smaller than 32x32... I'll have to look into what's available and how weel it scales.
:)
About the LPC12, I guess we've got some kind of new standard here :)
I'll be using LPC12 style stuff for the next few game(s) I develop. I really like the style, the license and the amount of resources available. :-)
The squirrel looks cute, but I'm not sure how it'd look with the rest of the enemies.
As for Polymorphable... I suggested this on my blog's comment section but you guys could've missed it. I think you should make a "Ghost2"/"Bat2" or "DaphneGhost"/"DaphneBat" that has a higher speed value.
I read somewhere that there was no way to raise Daphne's bat-speed without increasing the enemy bat speed, I think this solution works :P
I've been playing around with Daphne's speed during the past day when I can find a minute, and I think I've found some much better speeds for both the enemy bat and the transform. That solution definitely works, and is one of the ideas I've tossed around with Thane. https://github.com/pennomi/polymorphable/issues/129
We talked last night about boosting bat.txt to around 60% base speed (up from 40%) and up to 80% for daphnebat.txt, mayyyybe even 100% since the bat is already hobbled by not having access to the powers menu. Plus at some point I hope to have upgradeddaphnebat.txt (with hopefully a less cumbersome name as well) as a side-quest reward.
How about daphnebatv2.txt? :P
