If you're reading this blog entry, there's a good chance you've noticed we've reached out current fundraising goal to purchase the two excellent 3D models I blogged about previously! I'm currently waiting to receive a check pledged in the mail -- once that clears, I'll make the purchase and post the models on the site.
In the meantime, it's time to put up the next donation goal: $200 for a double set of spell icons by eleazzaar (picture shown to the left is from the very popular first set, which OGA commissioned last month). The new icons icons will include:
lightning
ice shards flying
boulder(s) flying through the air
entangling thorny vines
Beam of light (all nine colors)
Speed boost
Contributors of $40 or more may specify a spell idea to be included in the set (3 power levels, in 3 colors of the artist's choice). We'll keep the list up to date as it's being expanded.

Looks like some of it could fit Wesnoth.
Yeah, i posted on Wesnoth's forums bringing the first set to their attention.
Stylistically, the Warcraft icons are my main inspiration. Wesnoth's attack icons were also strongly influenced by Warcraft. I think other projects have borrowed Wesnoth's icons, so not only is this a good style, but it should fit easily into a number of existing projects.
Yeah made me think of wc3 icons. But I like yours more!
These definitely look cool. Probably not the best idea, but I'm trying to come up with new game mechanics in which these can be used!
So, are you working on any game idea in particular?
Yeah -- it's sort of an online Dwarf Fortress clone (except with real graphics and useable interface). Right now the characters just run around and do tasks you assign them, but this gives me ideas for status attributes that be applied when they walk by particular artifacts or something. Or actual spells they cast, or effects from having an artifact in their inventory, etc.
I love your icons and i'd really be interested in seeing a new set... I have some kind of game project where I'd like to use them... maybe i'll show you something in future, but thanks for your good work

I have some of the new icons are in the works, and i think with they are turning out better with the practice behind me. Expect further updates in January sometime...
