Hey guys, I am looking for suggestions on creating a tileset for a platformer. I really like using inkscape to create artwork. But it seems i will make a tile say 32x32. But no matter what I do i can never seem to get them to merge together without a small seem between each tile. Its been pretty frustrating. Anyone have a program or easier way to make a nice tileset. I am not really into making a pixel game.

I know that problem. Try exporting your tileset as .png and look at it. If you have the correct sizing and all your tiles are aligned there shouldn't be any seems on the exported bitmap.
Inkscape messes up the view when you define sizes in pixel. It's a vector program after all. Its not made for fixed sizes. At least that's what I figured out. I use it quite frequently to create tilesets and was wondering about that too. Hope that helps you.
I attached two pictures that show the fact. The first is the view in Inkscape the second the exported bitmap.

Thanks guys. I will give this all a try! Yeah i assumed since there was a small line serperating the tiles it was going to be a problem. And thanks for the video share polygon. That look like a really handy trick!
The small gap showing between tiles often is an anti-aliasing problem most vector drawing apps have (excluding Illustrator for some reason). All I use like Intaglio,Affinity Dsigner or Inkscape will show that gap - but hopefully your game engine will handle it though. Good luck on your project.
