I've always had very mixed success posting to the forums; half the time, it just doesn't work (I get an error or the page appears to hang).
Today I managed to post several times successfully (over in the "Ideas for games" thread), but just now I tried to reply again, and it won't go. I tried half a dozen times with two different browsers. In Firefox, when I click the Save button, the page clears and then spins forever (and no post appears in the thread). With Chrome, I get this:
Any ideas what's going on? (Fingers crossed that I'll be able to post this message about being unable to post...)
Can you post the content you were trying to submit to https://shrib.com and share a link with me?
The issue is most likely some control characters in the text of your comment. These characters are often copied when typing text in a separate word processor and pasted into the site's comment box. Some iPads seem to insert certain extra-ansi characters as well sometimes.

Yes, I switched to HTML and copied it (I also tried pasting that back, in the HTML editor, on some of my attempts, but got the same result). You can grab it here: https://shrib.com/#c5EWBgSKG324u-eBBRk0
It's the EM dash. (after "and maximize the fun") Replace with hyphen.

Well, that explains why it's failed so frequently, but inconsistently, for me. I tend to use emdash a lot.
Thanks for figuring that out.
Now I'm worndering why this happens as it just happened to me, so I went and checked my Drupal install, which works fine...
