What are the rules on uploading nsfw content, like nudity and gore? I can't find anything about that in the FAQ. I see some nudity and it doesn't appear to have any special restrictions so far.
The question is if the nude components are intended to titillate or if they are simply for anatomical accuracy. The former is not allowed on OGA, the latter is.

yeah please don't upload nsfw content. i have enough issues with that crap getting through itch.io's block.
i have no say in the rules here. but porn is as addictive as heroin, and more harmful to it's users and to society in my opinion. it mostly disrespectful and exploitative toward women, and causes real damage to the mental health of it's consumers.
Keep in mind OP was not asking about porn. The question was about nudity and gore, which are allowed conditionally.

Shino1, could you upload a sample in here? That way we could judge if it´s allowed or not, as said before plenty of that content is already around. Did you made it or are you uploading from CC sources?. It would depend on how hardcore or sensitive your depictions are.
Example:
https://opengameart.org/content/tetine-elfe
https://opengameart.org/content/nude-male-skin-for-pfunkeds-base-human-m...
https://opengameart.org/content/alien-girl
https://opengameart.org/content/lovecraftian-supernatural-horror-art-by-...
https://opengameart.org/content/knee-splitter
https://opengameart.org/content/3d-dungeon-debris-gibs
https://opengameart.org/content/andreass-darkness
yeah i probably jumped the gun with my soapbox preaching.
sorry
It would be CC because I would be the one making it (and I can license my own work however I feel like), I had an idea that since it seems erotic games development is gaining popularity lately, I was entertaining the idea of making open source assets for those people could use as a base or for prototyping erotic games.
So yeah, they would definitely be intended for titillation and be pretty explicit, lol. So I guess if I go through with this, I will keep this project on itch.io.
So thanks for the answer! Again - I asked because there is no NSFW policy in the FAQ or in the submission guidelines.
The lack of policy there is actually intentional. It keeps people from trying to rules-lawyer around the guidelines for ambiguous content like that. Unfortunately, each situtation needs a discussion like this one to determine if it's ok or not. I appreciate your assessment.
Good luck with your erotic itch artwork! If you have any companion content that is more SFW, we'd love to host it here as well. :)

[In reply to a deleted post :)]
I don't think there are any official rules around sensitive content. But the content is called "sensitive" for a reason: "When in doubt, don't". I guess that properly correspond to the MedicineStorm's reply in the second message here.
E.g. I personally have a few graphics I could share (they are available at open license in my projects repositories), but following this rule I don't because there is a nudity layer in those + some items/clothes are not appropriate for general audience.
What about 90's final boss art?
That crap's nightmare fuel as intended for the average videogame superhero, and we need more of them on point! Not just some guy looking for feck, cute monster or some shadier clone of you!
You mean something like Contra or Super Cyborg, or some of the more body horror-type shmup bosses? It's an idea!
Like early Final Fantasy, or Xenogears or P.E., or that arcade space shootemup with nude monsters enslaving mankind, or Breath of Fire 2's final boss, or Frankenstein from the NES game Frankenstein.
The devs clearly wanted you to stop such in their games with the heroes.
