With all the problems we've been having recently with new users not knowing what the site does to spammed submissions, I just thought maybe there should be a note on the "Submit Art" page mentioning this, or at least the submission guidlines. It would make sense, and I'm actually surprised no one has done this before.
I agree, an extra notice regarding the submission of copyrighted content near where the tick box "Is this your own work?" Maybe we could also address the issue of new users submission flooding rather than condensing.
Sometimes you just have to spell it out for folks.
Yeah that last one is what I originally meant but the first one would be useful too.

Let's start with an alteration to the submission guidelines. What would you propose?

Maybe just a note here that too many submissions will flood the front page and will be treated as spam. And to maybe a note reminding people about licensing issues, since I doubt most people read the submission guidlines.

I agree I think a note at the bottom of the submission page is a really good way to deter unintended spam since I assume not many people actually read the guidelines. While were on the topic of updating the page, maybe a checkbox for is this work AI and maybe that'll get its own category?

I think the underlying issue is that no one really reads the submission guidelines. This issue is only the flavor of the month. Next month it will be some other thing that is also already addressed in the guidelines. Unless the expectation is to eventually repost the entirety of the guidelines right below the upload-file box, the solution may be to make the guidelines more prominant.

Actually, I don't think front page flooding is addressed in the guidlines. But yeah, they probably should be more prominant.

Would be possible to implement a cool-down timer between submissions?
Not in the site's current form, no. However, any time someone submits about 5 or 6 submissions in a row, those submissions are removed from the front page for about 24 hours. Has that not been sufficient?

Just to be clear, I don't want to come across sounding ungrateful and it's not that I don't appreciate your ongoing efforts keeping order here. I'm just thinking about the amount of time you spend having to address every flagged submission.
There haven't been all that many offenders, really. I mean, more lately than ever, but that's mostly due to an uptick in site traffic, which is a good thing. Anyone with good art to share will stick around and they'll know better next time. :)
