Greetings, folks!
The folks from the promising CrystalSpace steampunk MMO Tempest in the Aether have asked me to put together an art sprint to create art for their project. If you've never participated in this sort of thing before, here's how it's going to work:
As of April 20th, the Tempest team will produce a list of art that they need. The list will include all kinds of art items, so people with a diverse set of talents will be able to participate. I'll make a forum post about the list, and if people want to get started early, they're welcome to do so. I'd ask that if you start to work on a particular item, you reply to my post and let people know you're working on it so that we don't duplicate work.
When the weekend comes around, I'll gather up as many participants as possible and we'll make as much art as we can in two days. Since we're going to be filling a number of smaller requests, there's no need for everyone to be there the whole time, so if you'd like to drop in and participate for an hour or three, that would be excellent. If you can't participate over the weekend but would like to help, feel free to get a head start and work on something early.
All art produced will be archived here on OGA.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Hmmm... team of 46 people, not even a tech demo... would an art run make them succeed where many others have failed?
Either way, we get some new steampunk artwork, and there's never enough of that. ;D
So true... :) Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of their setting and I hope they succeed, but chances are big that they won't.
Anon, given that they make make up the bulk of the old Planeshift team, including Planeshift's lead programmer, the chances are pretty good.
Ah, didn't know that.
JAFP (Just Another Failed Project). The list of members is most likely fake with 46 people they would have gotten something by now, not just a webpage :)
Let he who has actually completed a game cast the first stone
Otherwise, let's make some art.
Thank you to all of Opengameart.org for aiding us with the art sprint.
Was just curious about what happened to the sprint. Didn't find it in the Forums.:)
It was in the weekly challenge thread. :)
