been working on the monster i did from Surts scraps. its a NES version. i have a gap that i would like to fill(yellow box) to try and utilise the space and not have such a big gap. but i cant think of anything to put in it. theres 4 directional movement, up,down, left, right, bite,or shoot projectile, and a background sprite for GUI or whatever. i thought about showing the back of the monster but not sure thats would be useful. so any ideas to fill the gap would be helpful. :)
how about 'confused' or 'surprised'? As if the monster just heard the player sneaking around, or just got damaged by a critical hit.

Oh yes, critical hit, bloody marvellous suggestion. Thank you!

haha yes, i have thought about that, my game Monstropolis springs to mind as i was working on this.:) I think i have now what i want for this particular sheet now, i am going to include other animations/states but they will be for a different genre of game, this one was NES/Gameboy RPG Assets (probebly should of mentioned that). :)

yeah, I should have looked closer. Definitely not enough space left on that sheet to move those big arms around!
btw this sheet looks amazing! Great to see some of surt's scraps get the love they deserve!

@Capbros Thanks!, i love going through Surts scraps, i find it very good study source, and they are really good, to good to sit there gathering dust i think. :) hopefully i can add more of his work over time. :) il upload the monster sheets in due coarse. :)
