Endless Darkness [UNITY/C#][Rogue-Like][30%]
Endless Darkness [UNITY/C#][Rogue-Like][30%]
Hi everyone!
Today I'm presenting the second 2D game I've made, which is 30% complete, using Unity 6 and the C# language, called “Endless Darkness.”
It's a game in which you play a little character in armor, trapped in a large room in a dungeon, and you have to face waves of increasingly powerful monsters.
The entire gameplay is based on upgrades that you can obtain by gaining levels or killing elite enemies. (No bosses for now.)
The upgrades affect the character's basic attack, which you launch at your initiative using the space bar.
The upgrades also affect the acquisition of spells/skills, which are launched automatically.
Rarity of upgrades (4)
-> Normal
-> Uncommon
-> Rare
-> Legendary
Spells/Skills (8)
-> Fireball
-> Ice Shard
-> Lightning Bolt
-> Divine Sword
-> Sword of Darkness
-> Arrow
-> Javelin
-> Tomahawk
Each spell/skill has its own statistics, often shared with others (7)
-> Damage
-> Critical chance
-> Critical damage
-> Area of effect
-> Attack delay
-> Movement speed
-> Number of projectiles
Monsters (currently two, the slime and the bat) will attack you when they are in close combat, causing you to lose a certain number of health points.
To regain health points, you will find small health potions on the monsters.
Your health is displayed at the top right of the interface. If it drops to zero, you will be sent back to the menu and will have to start over.
The experience bar is at the bottom of the screen. When it is full, you will level up and have a choice of three upgrades.
Your score is displayed at the top left.
The wave number is at the top.
The higher the wave number, the greater the difficulty.
This game has given me a lot of additional knowledge for designing more advanced/complex games.
The game is 30% complete in terms of what I have in mind. It took me a week and a half/two weeks.
The graphics aren't amazing, as I had to make do with free resources.
For now, there is no music or sound.
The resources I used are all free to use.
I used resources from itch.io (https://itch.io/), Opengameart (https://opengameart.org/), Freepik (illustrations, https://www.freepik.com/), SVGRepo (icons, https://www.svgrepo.com/), and Dafont (fonts, https://www.dafont.com/fr/).
So how far will you go?
