Bug: Some gifs are not animated in the Preview window

Some gifs are not shown animated in the preview. I am not sure why it happens, but noticed that in one of my older submissions: http://opengameart.org/content/animated-fish-swarm-ready-for-isometric-r...
While other files play like they should i.E. http://opengameart.org/content/animated-birds-32x32
The difference is that the gif in the first entry is a preview image and therefore only loads when clicked (otherwise you only see a thumbnail), while the gif in the second image is embedded into the description and therefore loads w/o user action.
The problem appears to be that it generates a thumbnail for the preview image even if the preview image is already exactly thumbnail size or smaller.

Yeah, I've been doing that manually. You can upload the .gif as a preview image, then edit the submission afterward and remove it; that will unlink it from the submission so it won't display, but doesn't actually delete the file, so you can add your own img tag for it to the description.
