I looked, but didn't find an introduction section.
But I thought it rude to just join and then start making requests or what ever.
Curen't i'm working on a game called Devil's Dusk: Rishe of the Demon Slayer.
It's a Castlevania Tribute game.
Came here in search of audio recourses, because out of everything my Indie game has.. music is what it lacks.. since that's one of the things i'm not capable of creating.
This place was suggested to me by several folks.. so here i am.
But like I said.. I just thought it would be more prudent to introduce myself first, rather than just joining and diving in.
Also, is there a section for maybe showing projects that are a work in progress?
There isn't a specific "Introductions Forum", but that may be by design. Best to just join and dive right in. (If you know of any good FLOSS game assets to share, that'll always make a great first impression :)
Most people just introduce themselves in whatever other forum makes sense with the topic they'd like to talk about: "Hi, I'm Andrea. I like games and I'm looking for tutorials about programming" would be best suited for the Programming forum, for example.
If you're looking for some great free music for your project, obviously browsing the Music Archive is a great place to start.
Each asset submission has a place for comments and questions about that asset, but if you'd like to discuss music in general, the Audio forum is ideal.
If you'd like to talk about your Work-In-Progress project, then the Show Off Your Project forum is the place to visit.
If you're in need of more specific assets, or didn't quite find what you were looking for while browsing our massive asset library, you can always post your needs in the Resource Request forum. You'll probably get more enthusiastic responses if you're able to hire talent (artists gotta eat, right?), but a few artists may be willing to donate their time if it strikes their interests. Though, I wouldn't count on others investing a lot of their free time when they have their own passion projects to work on :/

If I had the money to higher folks.. trust me.. I would.
What a horrible night to have a curse.
> What a horrible night to have a curse.
If that quote's any indication, you have chosen the right Castlevania game to do a tribute to. Just try to make the dialogue hints a litte more obvious. :)

I definitely understand operating a project on a minimal budget. Again, check out the massive asset library. It may already have what you need and it's all free. :) I know you haven't looked through it all yet because it is large enough to take several days of swimming to get across. :P
People around here can even help you find things if you are able to provide more specifics about what you have in mind.

I've found ONE song out of your library that fits my project.

It's all i could find.. unless i'm just not looking hard enough.. but i found that searching "Castlevania".
@withthelove
Actually, that's just kinda random.. but the lenier games don't have much in the way of quotes.
My game is a bit more lenier.
I'm consdering the ability to replay levels though, to find items and paths.
What a horrible night to have a curse.
I always liked the castlevania style games, that is, basically a platformer with some rpg elements.
Have you played Ardentryst? It is a free software Castlevania style game that uses free cultural assets. It is a little on the short side, but what I did play was fun. I remember wanting some of the things like changing screen resolution to be more polished though.
I wish more people knew about it, people don't seem to talk about it, mostly I guess because they finish it (in like a day) and then forget about it.
The other thing I found really endearing about castlevania was the bad voice acting found in symphony of the Night. My husband and I spent hours poking fun of it.
I guess I need to get on the ball, and make a post about my project, including a video.
My game is classicvania.. leanier with a whip whelding hero.
What a horrible night to have a curse.
@thegoof: what specifically are you looking for (music, sounds, graphics, sprites, tiles, etc)? What style are you going for (orchestral, chiptune, gameboy look, 8-bit NES look, 16-bit/SNES look)?

ooop, sorry, re-read your post and see you were specifically asking for music.
you definitely found a hot track with ghost land.
They are not a perfect match, but Hydrogene's other works sound similar enough to work in the same game as that one:
