Excellent, as always!
Could you upload in a non-patented format, like OGG? I'd like to use this for a project (has the right feel and quality) but I can't use MP3 (note: conversion from one lossy format to another destroys the quality).
Thanks!
Unfortunately i can't open project in DAW. Sorry. I don't understand, why this happened.
@leeor_net:
Just speaking on a personal level here (I'm not a lawyer), I wouldn't worry too much about the patent status of MP3 at this point -- especially for small scale uses. The MP3 standard was essentially complete by December 1991 and published as ISO CD 11172. Patents last for ~20 years in nearly all countries, so essentially MP3 should be patent free nearly everywhere now. Any patents filed after December of '91 regarding MP3 are almost certainly invalid due to obvious prior art.
The one exception is the "submarine patents" fiasco that existed in the U.S. prior to the treaty changes in 1995. This may or may not allow some MP3 patents to hold up only in the United States for a few years longer.
In any case, infringement of the MP3 patents has been widespread for decades and the holders have been generally unable to extract anything from small to medium scale use, even for commercial projects. (For the most part, they don't even try. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to win even a very straightforward patent lawsuit, so they're not going to bother filing unless you're making at least that in profit.)
That said, Vorbis is nonetheless a superior audio codec on the technical merits, so it can make sense to use it anyway. It just doesn't look like there's any hope of getting an alternate encode for this song.
If you're adamant about not using MP3 nor taking quality loss, there is one surefire way to get around it. You can decode the MP3 to WAV/PCM and then use that. Encoding the WAV to FLAC would save some space, too.
Hey Alexandr,
Thanks again for your amazing soundtracks.
We're using this track in Mage & Minions - an action RPG title for iOs (available only in Canada & Australia for now, coming soon worldwide)

Some customer reviews:
"I seriously love everything about this game. Great soundtrack, graphics, concept, its just soo beautiful. Great job guys it would be cool if you could buy gems with money and vice versa tho. And a map would be useful. If by any chance u guys wanted to make a sequel, i would look at this game called fate by woldtangent and make the game concept like that. Just an idea. Keep it up :)"
"This has been a very addicting and entertaining game. It has the visuals, sounds, and a great dose of polish. Thanx for a great diversion!"
Thank you. I am glad that I can be useful)
Hey, I used this track for my first game I just released, Ouroboros (https://donchocheese.itch.io/ouroboros). Thank you so much for this inspiring track!
