It is very annoying that each time you change anything in your profile the project link will become hidden again and it says "Project link will be visible after this account is approved." which of course never happens unless you ask an admin to do it.
Can't you just remove this? I mean if someone wanted to truly spam his links, he could do it anywhere else without needing any approval.
What are you talking about? The log shows your account went into approval queue for a whole 2 hours now. Are you changing your profile more frequently than that? I review all unapproved accounts at least daily. Is there some spam somewhere on the site that you've seen recently? The only easy way to spam the site is via an approved account. The decision to auto-de-approve accounts after a profile change wasn't done just to piss you off, it was specifically because that is exactly how most spam was getting on the site.

So it gets approved automatically now? I had that multiple times in the past and one time it was there almost forever until I told someone and it was approved. Why does an account need to get approved again when something was changed?
No, I review them manually every day. Yours was not listed in the queue waiting for review this morning. I'm sure you did have it happen in the past, but I'm guessing it was before I was an admin. Accounts must be re-approved after something was changed because spammers would create an account with no offending links, wait for (auto)approval, then change the links to go to spammy websites and start hitting up the forum with counterfeit purse advertisements in their signature line. Requiring reapproval after a change prevents that.

Ah ok, then everything is fine now, I was just annoyed since I thought it will be the same as last time where it never got approved and I waited forever for it to happen.
I still wonder whats so special with the project link field that it requires manual validation every time, people who want to spam will just spam into the comments or forum, where everyone will see it, not in their profile where nobody will click.
true, but there are different tools I have for spotting comment spam quickly. Some do get through, but they tend to get caught pretty quickly. Please do continue to "report spam" and let me know if your approval is ever missed. It happens.
