Yeah, I'm planning on changing the angle of her head. Per a suggestion from Redshrike, I'm probably going to remove at least some of the internal outlines, too.
So, a couple of things, just so people know what's going on:
I have a number of spam countermeasures already in place. If it weren't for those, the spam would be literally constant. There would be significantly more spam posts than legitimate ones.
We had a spam filter, but it had too many false positives and drove people crazy. The occasional mass post while the mods are asleep (literally, in this case) is honestly preferable.
I can't just filter based on whether someone is posting links, because most of the time people who are posting links are perfectly legitimate.
I have a keyword filter in place, but in cases where someone is posting in Korean, I don't know the language and I'm not sure what would be a good keyword to filter on. It's too late now because I already deleted the posts, but maybe next time I'll ask if there are any Korean speakers who can identify a good keyword to filter on so as to block those particular posts without blocking legitimate posters.
I think the best thing to do will be to limit accounts that are less than a day old to, say, two or three posts an hour, although even that is a pretty major annoyance for legitimate users.
Regular users can help with this. If enough people flag a post as spam in a certain amount of time, the post will be unpublished automatically. I don't want to be too specific about how this works, because I don't trolls gaming the system, but definitely flag spam when you see it.
I think I'm going to use those Sakura run frames as a reference point, although it's probably going to be challenging, since the Sakura's legs are freakishly long and the aspect ratio looks weird, like it's been compressed vertically a bit.
And with her facing forward:

Here's the latest version:
I worked some more on the colors. Here is a (non-animated) test of her costume.
Tried it with my fantasy palette.
And another progress image.
Note that these files are animated. Click on them to view the animation in the lightbox.
Here's a test of a 6 frame run cycle, based (loosely) on the above Sakura sprite.

I've been poking around for examples of run cycles to use as a reference, and I stumbled on this:

Had a bit of a chance to work on this today. I tweaked her pose a bit and changed her skirt and socks to match the current comics.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that I really like this! :)
