Yes I agree a bit with Malifer. I know how to program but of course I can't do both at the same time. The most I can do is review the other while doing the best on the other one. So choose your primary skill Salano, find a partner to fill the remaining position.
Solano, a few years ago I was in the same situation as you are. My first game making experience is with RPGMaker 2003, yeah it was easy to learn but since it doesn't give me what I wanted. So I learn to program my own game. I took programming class during my school days just to learn to code games.
Okay, after a lot of chunk of code written, I stumbled a new challenge, I want my own custom asset for my game so finally, I ended up modeling. So here I am now, a 3D modeler with a novice knowledge of programming.
It took a lot of effort to be who I am now. So my advice is the same other had told you. If you want to do anything you just need to spend some time learning about it.
You're right.. I should explain the constraint of my modeling first before starting the tutorial.. Well the topology is awkward for me too.. I will update the post later..
The development of SkyEdge had reach a limitation of the game engine. The animation system we had been working on fixed but the main idea of having variety of attack animation is quiet far from theory. The current attack animation that we had now is good for shooting game only but we will try our best to improve this mechanic to its limit. How about chainsaw guys?
The engine capabilities had been improved with addition of DrawDistance feature which also means bigger world creation. The open world game feature is seeing brighter future than than the hack n slash so we will keep it as the main feature.
The model is coming up great except for their animation. We were not really the best animator but we will try our best. The great thing about this is that we will maybe donate some of our asset to OpengameArt.com but that is still undecided.
In a nutshell, we will hope to finish this project as soon as possible. Possibly in the first quarter of 2014. Milestone over milestone that we had reach is the proof.
The game is still undetermined but the engine is free and open source.

so the project look like they need modeler to make more assemble model. It sure can help to have script that you use like lego.
It is a profesional looking project and I hope they can succeed in doing so. I agree with bart.
