I can help you out. I am a freelancing illustrator and animator specializing in 2d game art. I invite you to have a look at my website for further insights. https://www.2dpixx.de/
You can reach me via mail (jana@2dpixx.de) for further communication. Let me know some more details if you are interested in a collaboration. Some questions I would have are listed below.
What technique would you like the bricks to be created with? Pixel art or just low resolution art?
What style are you looking for? Just a few neon-colored bricks, like breakout or actual building bricks?
How exactly should the player brick differ from the once that can be destroyed?
What kind of objects are the ones that can be collected by the player?
my name is Jana (2DPIXX). I am a freelancing illustrator and animator specializing in 2d game art and I am certain that I can help you with that kind of task since I have managed similar ones on other projects.
Just to clarify: Are you looking for miniature illustrations or clean abstract icons for these upgrade graphics?. Some style guidance or examples would also be helpful for further conversations.

Hey thanks for this :) I was very thankful to find a few bicycle sounds on here! Used it within a video on yt: https://youtu.be/p8OdXTx910Q thanks for helping me build my atmosphere on this :)
are you still looking for somebody to help with your project? I am able to work with tiles and know what you mean by three-colored wang tiles. I have worked with tilesets for years and am currently open for commissions. I also think I will have no problem with working in your more realistic style. I can create the illustrations, build a tile logic and implement it in tiled for you to use and build procedural maps.
