Well, Our priority project is now Omega 7. You can find more information in my other thread. In my search for members right when I started getting discouraged people started coming forward. We've got two 3d modelers, and yourself thats shown interest. The modelers are saying a definite.
The game will be space style game with a mix of gameplay elements including planer to planet travel, space ship fighting levels, and more. It's not going to be a 3d game. It's going to be 2d/2.5d with prerendered 3d graphics mixed with 2d elements.
I'm not sure of their skill level, but it sounds promising.
If you're interested you should check out our site.
if you do join the project be sure to sign up to the forums, and pm me. Screen name Omega, and I'll add you to global mod so you have access to the staff, and work shop section (when workshop is set up)
I'd also like to mention that we have a blogging service on our site where we'll be posting blog entries by other bloggers, and linking to their blogs at the bottom of the entry.
I've decided to convert my old project into a 2d game if any spriters are interested.
I can explain what I see a little more. Sense it's been converted to a 2d game maybe more artists will be interested.
this is what I see.
I see wicked cool space ships, space fighting scenes. I see space travel, different races, a war. I see a alien race trying to conquer the galaxy. I see a human space military organization trying to bring it down. When they go to a main cybrin controlled planet they're about to compete a crucial mission, and a strange cloaked mage from another planet plane of existence comes into a futuristic sci fi setting with an army of orcs. I see them taking over that planet easily meaning the mage is strong. I see the mage using cybrin technology on the orcs...now there's two threats in the galaxy. The cybrins, and the mage. I see possibly even the cybrins contacting the humans and asking them for help, becuase even though they're powerful the mage is doing damage...what's the mages agenda? not sure yet, team can figure that out, lol.
I see planet to planet travel, top down shooter levels...imagine orcs flying cybrin ships haha...
I see a potentially wicked game.
if any 2d spriters would be interested in something like this let me know, lol
I can program this by the way, I'm just not to well with 3d but it's hard to get a team without having a skill to offer.
I've refined my goals for the scenes to make it more achievable for a small team to develop. Instead of hoping for full blown cinematic scenes, which would be nearly impossible for a small team, the cinematic scenes could be voice acted comics.
I guess the main things I could use help with are digital based images. Maybe someone who could make an image that makes it look like the planet is going on forever. Something I could put at the edge of the map with a blocking volume.
Aslo could use help tweaking some models that I've collected. I'd love to have people that would be interested in working full time on the demo, and community building, and see what happens when it comes to media, promoting, and running a funding campaign.
I'm really eager to get this project going, so if anyone is interested let me know.
Also interested in having a writer join the team to help finish the story with me :)
All welcome. Gonna be a good time, starting up a forum, writing a game, working on a demo, I'll do up some tutorials on different things to help community build, what ever works, lol.
hmm, I'm new to the site, but I agree with some of the things above. Most sites don't allow people to post if they haven't registered to keep useless messages out. I see Acorns point too, but I've got mixed feelings on his theory.
I personally don't allow guests posting in any forum I create though, it saves hassle, but at the same time I think it might help, by enabling guests to post...in a way that it lets them test their feet in the water. They may be more apt to register later..
Maybe limit them to certain areas? A special guest forum for guest to chat about weather or not they should join, say what ever, and ask users questions, lol.
On a side not I started working with the first landscape in UDK. It's still on it's first iteration, but it's going alright. It's a barren planet surface with a mountain area, and trench which leads towards the road that goes up into the mountains.
definitely have a long road ahead of me, lol.
Love to have anyone who would be interested in helping. I don't mind using free art from the site in the demo, and hopefully if the project gets funded be able to swap it out with fresh art.
Hey, I checked out the site. Looks good. I'd love to have ya on board if you are interested, same goes with anyone else who might want to pitch in.
like I said we got a modeler, another maybe modeling, now a possible concept artist, sound guy whos shown interest and a couple others.
should be a good time. I'm excited to get things underway, lol.

I hope you're still interested because it sounds like quite a team is forming.
aside from that if anyone takes interest in our programming service at the moment we're booked as far as I know.
I've had one artist come forward for programming, another maybe, and this project.
still feel free to join the community if you'd like, and take advantage of the new blogging service.

Actually a side scrolling 2d rpg wouldn't be too bad, like spirit engine.
lol I'm a programmer without artists :(
