We will be keeping Linux support. But we are very unhappy with qubodup and his actions. I am not even sure how to totally guard our project against such law enforcers. He admited to not watching the campaign video that was hosted by Wendy who he said did not exist. So he could not be bothered to look at our obvious content but he did have time to email indiegogo and have us shut down.
All that said I cannot justify hurting my awesome users whou are trying very hard to help us beta test and giving us great feedback. I also do not want to hurt new users that could discover music because of openoctave.
I guess I was looking to pass the hurt off to some other person. But in the end that is a very bad move. I am not qualified to execute vengance.
Sorry for the noise. It all just happened so fast and was so hurtful.
We will be releasing a beta very soon and I hope you all like it as much as we do.
I really appreciate your efforts to help us. Guys like you are the only reason I would want to help out Linux anymore.
As for us gaining a lot from Linux community. I code this application for one user. My wife Wendy. It so happens that our use case is great for Linux users. I think this might be the other way around. Linux needs us. Guys like qubodup should pay more attention before trying to kill the best thing Linux audio has going.
I think qubodup was nothing but wrong in his approach. He caused a great deal of troubles for us. He is the worst investigator I have ever come across. It would have been so very simple to figure out who we were. Instead he emailed IndiGoGo and had us shut down.
The Campaign is back up and running. We had to gut the perks with any reference to our draw. I feel like a liar to my funders.
We will be looking to run our own fundraisers in the future.
Linux Audio has proved to have many of these types of attacks for us. I am not sure I want to bare it anymore. The Linux audio crowd is full of fighting and accusations very similar to what we got today.
We have been accused of stealing peoples code, not giving attribution, being scam artists and simply not existing. All by people who shoot first andf ask questions later. Sure people appologize, but how many times do we need to go through this?
I am all full of being attacked by Linux audio and other developers.
But by morning I just may decide to stick around and make it for the users.
Someone complained we were having a lottery for our indiegogo campaign and indiegogo suspended the campaign.
They tolds us to update the campaign and go live once we take out all references to our draw. But once a perk has been claimed it cannot be edited except you delete it and loose all the associated money.
Judging by qubodup's posts today it was most likely him or at least a result of his actions that caused the suspention of our campaign. Funny thing is there are many many people running campaigns just like ours so we did not see it an issue.
So qubodup enforced the law today. Congradulations. I am sure the Linux world owes you a big one for possibly killing the best DAW it had going.
Man I am really not happy with this guy right now :)
Well it looks like you got our campaign suspended for having a draw. So much for coding non stop day and night to give the world the best DAW.
We are discussing not releasing to Linux anymore. I would point out that you are the main cause of that. Well you and others like you. The shoot first ask questions later crowd.
We will be looking for builders on every distro once we reach Open Octave Studio 2012.1. We are about to go into beta 1 right away and will then release beta 2 and then 2012.1
So stay tuned and we will make sure you get the software in your distro.
As for film scoring work she has done. We are working on a film together that she is directing. But there are some smaller projects she has wrote scores for. One example is helping out a fellow blender user here:
Thanks for pointing out our short comings in explaining our product. I hope you can get it installed when the first beta is out. Till then please fell free to donate and help us reach our goals!

Nitesh, a user of our software answered you back in your other post about us
Christopher Cherrett Founder of The Open Octave Project here,
You are confusing Muse Sequencer and Muse Score:
http://www.muse-sequencer.org/ <- Linux only. the project we forked
http://musescore.org/ <- Windows/Linux/Mac notation editor
We forked the midi sequencing side of things that is linux only.
My wife Wendy is real. Who do you think made all the music on.
