Im well aware, I work as a flash developer for eLearning for large corperations. Publishing the flash to AIR still works on andriod and iOS, and there are some things you can do in AIR that you cant in the player, but you are right about control issues on smaller screens.

Also if need any help on the programming side I wouldnt mind giving a hand.

You forgot to add in that with flash you can also target mobile easily, well as easy as you can do any thing for iOS.

Very nice and thanks, tiles are kinda a strange size at 21x21, and i had to cut 1px around the edge to make it play nice with tiled.

I have been using lua/love2d lately. Once you figurer some of the nuances of it, its not to bad to use. I also like Flash/as3, its easy to learn and lots of tutorials and resources for it plus you can hit most every platform with it one way or another.

The big things that i see missing are monsters with full animation, world view style tiles, weapons, and races other then humans. Some animated tiles would be nice as well like fountins.

NPC's can now have random movement. This is just basic at the moment the NPC "jumps" to the next tile. There seems to be a minor issue with the map based on how fast the player moves there are vertical lines in the tilemap depending on the speed and location of the player.

it was in this thread

http://opengameart.org/forumtopic/getting-an-early-start-on-the-coding-phase-link-your-code-here

Just a note it has not been updated since the start of the coding contest, but 90% or so of it is current.

edit: project no longer there

the folder marked actule game files is where the project is, the files outside that folder are as3 files i used as refrence to port to lua.

The game has had some updates. The name has been changed, the camera code has been re-done. There was also a fix for people using luajit.
