@chasersgaming for mega drive stuff I use DefleMask, it's a free program which can write for many different soundchips, maybe we could write a theme for the Furry Wrestling Federation :D
Interesting considerations! A genre selection option might sound nice in theory, if there wasn't so many musical genres and fusions and permutations of those genres.... still, it's not entirely a bad idea...
Also, while I'm sure there would be more need for said gentle background music, hopefully it's ok that I just keep making my stuff as usual too ;;
But that's another thing, what if you feel your archive here is bloated with old worthless tracks (like mine)? I know the obvious solution is just for the artists producing them to have better quality control...
@chasersgaming I could look into doing some megadrive stuff, I already have a fair few mega drive songs and it's a fun sound chip to work with ^^
While I am making my own game too at the moment (actually a lot of projects) I would still like to hear what you have in mind ^^ maybe I can do a little bit of work on your project too, or you might even be willing to join in on mine, which also uses game maker ^^
You can contact me on discord by Spring#6354 if you're interested, I can also link to some of my art if neccessary.
And we're back with this same issue for my new soundtrack, I've made 4 versions of the same tune in different programs, and I've no idea how to decide what to use - there's a comparison video here, but only 4 versions so far:
There's also the mega drive sound and master system, Atari POKEY , even commodore 64 SID remaining..... so many choices and how do you decide what is best ? O_o
Seriously though, the game does look extremely good, especially visually, I might get some inspiration from it here and there ;) even though it's pretty different from what I want to achieve too.
Thanks for your compliment about my music btw! ;w;

Awww, that was a very rambly post.

This is really good too, nice mellow colors in that forest!
Having thought about it for most of the night and made a couple more test tunes, I realize that it should probably be .ogg again...

@VinnNo.0
It's certainly not always good ! XD Glad you like it though, it makes sense that it would fit better with pixel games I suppose....
@VinnNo0
Yay! The IGN hate train!

Yuck IGN :'D
It looks like a beautiful game though, even though the vibe I was going for is very different.
