Well, i've included nothing that i recognize from several art history courses.
But i would probably make an exception for "Bogatyri” anyway since it looks much more like something that belongs in the standard heroic RPG world than the vast majority of public domain paintings.
Yeah, i posted on Wesnoth's forums bringing the first set to their attention.
Stylistically, the Warcraft icons are my main inspiration. Wesnoth's attack icons were also strongly influenced by Warcraft. I think other projects have borrowed Wesnoth's icons, so not only is this a good style, but it should fit easily into a number of existing projects.
Of course these can be used differently, but my intention was that the sword icon serve as a general attack buff spell, and the shield series is supposed to be general defensive buffs. That's why the sword/shield are simply silhouettes.
If you want weapon icons in a somewhat similar style (though only 64x64) check out Wesnoth.
Wind will be in part 3.
I was thinking of the ice shards as being weaponized water, but no there's no liquid water planned for part 3.
Looks interesting. It would be nice if you included a few more examples of the ships you can build with these parts.

Wow, that's the most improbable armor concept i've ever heard, but it sure looks cool.
Some glitches:
Clicking on "blog" on the top menu seems to only bring up the most recent entry, and the buttons to see more blog entries don't work for me.
