This is a fantastic pack. Some of the highest quality concrete, stone and metal work I've seen around the open source community. Normal and specularity maps are missing for some, but this is a very easy to use set. I suspect we'll see it pop up all over the place.
I'd love to see you expand on the themes you introduced in the metal set. It's nice, but I don't see it blending well with other textures, so it would be good to have more options if I'm using it in mapping. The O is a nice start.
Hi Bart, just wanted to let you know I used a couple of your reference photos to build replacements for poorly licensed textures in UFO:AI. You can see the commit here and the license file here (you're under "bart" unless you'd like something different).
@thecubber, my thoughts on the slightly "off" feel of the texture (just my $0.02, your work is better than anything I could do). I think what seems wierd to me is that the whole thing is too shiny (ie - reflection), and particularly that all parts of the model have the same reflection.
This is particularly the case with the skin on the arms and legs and the beard in this render. It's also the case for me with all the cloth elements (the skirt going down to his knees, for instance). It all shines the same as the metal armor, so the metal armor doesn't have a chance to stand out.
Also, you might try rendering at twice the size and then rescaling. In some places you get very sharp contrast that makes it difficult to make out the shapes. This is especially true around the hands. Rescaling will give you some anti-aliasing to smooth it out.
Hi lattice, I just wanted to drop you a note to say I've exported your tree for use with UFO: Alien Invasion. It's going to go into our forest map which is getting reworked at the moment. Thanks for the great tree! You can see the license info saved in our project here.

Thanks, the wind one is exactly what I was hoping for!

UFO:AI is FOSS. You can get our repository via GIT and view licensing for all our files. It's those 200+ UNKNOWN licenses from early development that p0ss is helping us work through.
Quite a few assets there of varying quality. We've even got a data_source branch full of Blender, Max, Gimp and Photoshop files as well.
* Pack includes textures only. Preview only shows it on model to show normal/specularity map *
My understanding was that 2d artwork contained 2d textures even if they were intended to be used on 3d models. Feel free to move this if I'm mistaken.
Trees are always useful!
