Just added Skorpio's second kit to www.part2art.com. Mostly functional. If you mix kit 1 and kit 2, after you autocrop, you are better off using 'colorize' to turn the whole ship a set color, rather than adjusting hue/saturtion.
You can add your own parts to your own packs. Just make a pack and then 'add part'. The submit button silently sends new part links to the database, so you can make small changes to the link and submit again. Hit the home button and reload the pack when done adding. To place parts in your own packs, click a part to select it, then use ASDW to move it around, and finally click the part a second time to silently save its location(roughly.)
edit: fixed a crash bug.

Man, you are genius, so much thanks :)
Thanks. I keep trying to improve it. After posting the original message I realized a couple of things were wrong for new users or making new packs. Hopefully those are fixed.
I'm very open to suggestions. I'd like to store a red/blue/green/alpha modifier for each part and allow people to make copies of entire packs so they could customize the default colors/sizes/positions.
There seems to be some kind of offset error when loading packs while adding parts to a project. The placement of the sprites is different than what shows up in the pack editor.
Eventually, I'd like to get back to making a game, rather than a tool. www.stellarscaping.com is the current state of that idea.
Try to use Construct 2 ;)
I glanced at Construct 2. Seems more involved than just a stamp/clip art type app. Does it already do what I'm aiming at, and better?
I fixed some major bugs with part2art. It should no longer black out all parts on adding a new part. Also, on saving projects, there is now a 2 second wait before the project gets reloaded (since there is a small amount of lag sending all the part saves to the server.) and the refresh button is visible even if the app thinks the project has 0 parts.
From what I can see, no one has created their own pack with actual parts in it.
I need to:
test pack creation on standard user accounts
allow own pack deletion
add some mechanism for scrolling through the lists of packs and projects
I want to:
add a system to browse all user's publicly visible projects, allow tagging, searching, and 'liking' of them, and have a search/sort mechanism based on the tags and likes.
Hey, Wubitog
Thanks so much for your app. I will be using it quit a bit i think. I've been making a space game on construct 2 and love your stuff. Thanks again.
If you haven't already done it I think construct 2 is perfect for you app and will help with your game as well. I've done some pritty cool suff with it for the type of top down space game youve been making. Maybe we should swap ideas If your interested.
Thanks again.

Hello Xavier,
I rarely get feedback, so swapping ideas would be wonderful. Are you using the Flash version or the iOS version?
I was working on a way to upload your own images for use in the Flash based version of part2art. I have concerns like people uploading illegal content, but was considering only enabling it for certain levels of accounts. It still needs lots of work, but if that would be helpful, I can work on that. Snap Together, basic copy/fork of projects, and UI improvements are other things people have mentioned. If you have any requests for features or an order of preference for what I've mentioned, just let me know.
At the moment, I'm working on arrall.com/bb which is a very beta idea sharing tool. I am edging closer to incorporating pieces of part2art into bb, so improving part2art first would be great.
I need to sit down and look over Construct 2 in more depth. I keep wanting to make an online, multiuser, expands as explored, space game with drones, turrets, and structures with randomized loot and some kind of crafting. I've made some of that before, but flash/php/mysql/http are generally not the way to go it seems. I've heard good things about python servers, but I know little about python.
What kind of space game are you working on? Link?

That link is some ideas I have tried to organize in the past. You may need to zoom out to see them all (mousewheel.)
Hey Wubitog.
Been a while. I've been SO busy i never got back to all this. Is parts2 dea? Also i tried arrall.com and got a bunch of boxes with numbers moving around. Nothing else.. Did you ever get parts2 working?
Let me know thanks
