A complete character set of a female warrior I created for past games. All assets I created for these projects are now published for free commercial and uncommercial use.
There is also a repository of the game it was used in: https://github.com/skoam/fumiko-pygame - Feel free to make a clone and continue the game like you want! Don't expect too much from the coding style, I used to learn python programming at the time I developed this and made many mistakes regarding structure and convention. But it still works!

Woaaaa! Niiiice! A complete character sheet! Thank you!
Nice work. I like the design and execution both, and I appreciate your willingness to share her under such a permissive license.
Amazing, these would be perfect for a metroidvania-like game.
thank nice
I started the game and this is what I see, what am I doing wrong?
The ground doesn't collide with the rocks and player, which slowly fall. Player moves with WASD, and the screen doesn't move. I tried both Windows and Linux(Xubuntu).
Hey pizzapress!
I'm glad that you took the time to do a testplay with the game. :) Some months ago I rewrote a lot of the code from the scratch because it was working but a terrible mess. What you see there is what I've accomplished after that little "restart" of the project.
This is the commit that changed everything: https://github.com/skoam/fumiko-pygame/commit/3a51548721a93f5475d4afcff6...
If you checkout the last commit before this (https://github.com/skoam/fumiko-pygame/commit/ae6fee7e6ac38336a098f35028...) you would get the old version of the game that is shown in the video in the project description. :)
I stopped as I couldn't get physics working as I wanted to, that's why nothing collides with the ground yet. There were some attempts on including pymunk as a physics engine but I gave up and did some work on my other projects instead. ^^
Perhaps doing physics here was a wrong decision in the first place. Doing some basic collision detection to stop a character from moving through objects would be totally fine.
greetings,
skoam
Thanks!
Could you please make a version of the image that splits and names the animations?
(or, if you feel like it, split them up into a zip and name them?)
I love your character, really good pixel work and lots of different postures!
I've taken advantage of the fact you have made it public domain and used it for screen shots of an iPhone/iPad app I've just submitted to app store for review. The app is called Pixel Art Pro and is designed for you pixel artist guys and girls.
If you have an iPhone/iPad, check it out when its ready - usually takes about a week to go live depending on if it all goes smoothly or not - can be longer if it gets regected for any reason.
I've linked to your page on the app store readme text.
The application is not free, so if you do download it, let me know and i'll send you a promo code to get your money back.
Thanks a lot, Dan
- PS. hopefully the app will help get your art work get seen as well as helping my app to get noticed, fingures crossed!
Hey DanXS! Great to see that you used the sprite in your app. I finally found it in the app store - hope you'll get more downloads and ratings soon. Sadly I don't have an apple touch device, so I cannot try it out. Keep up the good work!
It's a cool little sprite, I really like your art work. I'm sorry it's only for iOS so you can't try it out. The number of downloads is a bit disappointing, but you know it's another app for my portfolio and as long as some people like using it that's good enough for me. Cheers
There's always a good amount of luck that comes to your app being successful, regardless of functionality. Always keep creating. I made a lot of stuff over the years, from music to sprites and little games. Nothing brought in anything, but I learned a lot from it and I'm happy for the few people that enjoyed what I'm making. I'm glad that so many people downloaded this sprite, so it gets at least some use for others.
I'm going to publish my first game in the next months, let's hope everything will play out well for this one. It's called Fumiko! and it passed greenlight recently. I cannot post the link here, so if anyone is interested in what I've been working on after abandoning this character here, you can look it up on steam greenlight. :)
cheers
Yes, I agree, we should try not to expect too much and just keep creating regardless... I suppose for many of us we can't stop creating anyway. I just had a look at a video of your game, it looks stunning - nice job!
Hey, I modified some of this artwork and used it in my android app, Fraction Taxi: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TexSoft.FractionTaxi
Just wanted to say thanks!
