An article about Creative Common licenses. It talks much about what to change, if that is useful or will come true noone knows, but it explains much details about licenses, for those who are interested.
I'm sure most of you have seen the poll. It looks like a fair number of people would be interested in buying t-shirts to help OGA. Thing is, the general consensus is that they'll need to say something cool and/or amusing on them.
So, if you can think of anything cool (relating to art, gaming, open source, etc) to put on a t-shirt, reply to this thread and we'll put it in the OGA Swag Shop (when we set it up, that is). It can be a phrase, a picture, or both. It just has to be printable on a t-shirt. :)
There already exists a wealth of quality, open-licensed game art that could be uploaded and archived here at OpenGameArt. Getting it all together requires a lot of effort,
But everyone can help in some way!
#1. Find Projects!
There are countless obscure game projects with excellent art. Tell us about them! In this thread, post links to open-licensed (generally GPL or CC) game projects with good art. If possible, also find the contact information for the project lead or the lead artist.
Are there sites and magazines that people in Opengameart.org follow religiously or something? For e.g. I follow http://freegamer.blogspot.com and sometimes http://planet.freegamerdev.net but apart from that I don't know many sites. Gamsutra is another one which I sometimes read to know what's happening but that's the extent to what I know.
I've learned programming in various languages (mainly C) but since I'm not very experienced I don't know how to make graphics in those language. The only language with which I can make graphics is Visual Basic, obviously because the graphic library is inside the language, but it's only for windows and it's not free, so I'd like to learn how to implement graphics in C or C++ language. Can somebody help me?
