For documenting copyright and licenses of assets I use, I found that I prefer a written license grant. It feels a bit awkward to justify lagality with something like "On the origin web page there is an icon with GPL 2.0 on it.". At least for two reasons:
- Unless one has undergone the submission process themselves, one might think that icon is an ad for the GPL. I am exaggerating, of course, but the connection between the submission and the license is somewhat implicit, unless in writing.
The second but last paragraph of the OGA-BY license text starts "Except for the limited purpose of indicating to the public that the Work is licensed under the CCPL, OpenGameArt.org does not". I believe it should be "OGAPL" instead of "CCPL".
I love OGA! Here's an issue I encountered. Please let me know if it's a bug or if I'm just doing it wrong:
Browsing for Music, I enter tags of "space background" (no quotes, no punctuation). Nothing comes up. When looking through all the tracks, there definitely are files with 'space' and 'background' tags. I tested with 'is one of' and 'is all of'.
Also, I'd request changing 'is one of' to 'is any of'.
i begin with a small story, while searching for textures (CC0 only selected!!), i found this tex pack, after i have clicked on one of these textures (http://opengameart.org/node/25004 is in this pack but is listed under cc-by-sa 3.0, then i checked the revisions of this pack and saw, that he has changed the license to CC0.
What does the add to favorites button do? Is it just some indicator that you have liked an art or an art collection? Because on my understanding if i add to favorites an art, i will have a list of arts that i have tagged as my favorites. But when i have checked my favorites tab, there isnt even a single art or art collection that i have tagged as favorite is there.
First of all, I'm not really sure if this is a duplicate, or if it is in the right forum at all... but still....
Many new commisions are badly tagged. Usually it is just one large tag with spaces instead of commas (sorry, couldn't find an example right now), or a few "hashtags", both of which are not really the 'usual' way of things.
My questions is what should we (normal users) do in those cases?
