I'm not sure the GPL is necessarily appropriate for writing. If you want to require credit for a written work, I think CC-BY or CC-BY-SA would be a better way to go. That said, you can GPL pretty much anything -- it just doesn't completely make sense for things that aren't code.
What jumps out at me the most is the lack of contrast between shading and highlights. Be bold. And remember, shadows are more blue, whereas highlights are more yellow.
The shape looks okay, but in terms of texturing, make the fastener part silver. I'd also brighten (and shrink) the specular highlight on the horn part, and maybe add some reflection, to give it the appearance of metal.
Probably. :)
I'll have to think about the best way to do that.

Have you created an account? You need to do that first, and then add your Open ID identity.

Thanks for the submission!

Just some thoughts, anyway. :)
Looks really good. I'll prod at it later and mess with the shading, and maybe we can include it in the next iteration of the tileset. :)

This was a contest entry that was unfortunately never completed.
I added that wording to the FAQ question because of this discussion. It wasn't already there. :)
Nice work, as always!
