Looks good.

From a game-designer perspective, I would add:

  • flying monsers
  • Slopes in the grass

However I would only make them if you know that they are actually used in a game.

I have four things to say.

1. Re 'The game itself is not open, as in "everybody can join freely". Although we do not restrict contributors, there is a degree of control on who makes it to the team.'

Does that mean that the game is closed source? I do not see any harm in using an open source license for your game. (Remember: open source does not mean, "Anyone can join us" but "If this project dies, anyone can revive it"). You can still controll who goes into the team.

2. I do not see any licensing info in the credits. I haven't checked all art assets, but usually you need to spread art using the same license.

3. Graphic wise, I think it could be improved by:

  • Adding more details, (e.g. rocks) at some spaces
  • Adding more patricles (e.g. more dust when the player is running).

4. It seems like a promising project. Good luck with it.

Another option is copying the icons from another browser. I would personally go for the KDE icons, but that is a matter of preference.

Looks great

Looks great. But here is some advise:

  • Lightning Sword: Use a dark background.
  • Ice sword: Same. Also consider making the ice transparent
  • Shadow spell: Maybe adding orbs in the hands.
  • Preview: Use a compilation of all pictures.

I would like the following

  • See the category in "New forum topics". E.g. "Flare: Deciding on a main story line"
  • Replace "Recent comments" with "Active forum topics", remove the person who posts it and delete duplicate entries.
  • Personally, I don't like avatars / signatures very much, because they tend to steal the focus. Can I turn them off?

Edit:

  • In your own page, there are bugs at OpenID identities (css) and Bookmarks (SQL, I have no bookmarks)
  • Points seem to be pointless. Even bart has none. I don't know what you want to do with them, but if you also have no idea, it might be considering removing them.

And one quote (from Einstein): "Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler"

My submission is tools and other items

PS: I was inspired by MrBeast's wonderful submission. (but used by own style).

On the other hand, it is usually the unique things that get remembered.

I think that a lot of general art coulb be used, but that some art should be made to improve the feel, later on.

However, I think that it is best to let this evolve in a natural way.

Not that I am aware of, and I am pretty sure that adding those functionality will remove the simplicity.

The best way to find out those things is with compass, pencil and paper. Those pictures could also help to explain the problem.

> I guess that this problem (I'm using a lvl 3 ranger and got killed twice :B ) could be fixed by implementing Attack Speed, and "pain chance" on mobs. If you cant shoot too fast (depending on your attack speed) and mobs don't stop at a single arrow, they will be able to hit you :). I guess, first post btw :D

I see I was not clear.

You have some powers, that are more powerfull than your basic attacks. In the current situation, powers can be used over and over. By limiting the uses of the powers we can force players to contiunally switch between them. This will

  • Increase the skill needed for the players (They have to look at when the powers recharge)
  • "Force" the player to use more powers.
  • Avoid some almost game-breaking effects. (*stun*, *stun*, *stun*, *stun*, *stun*, *kill*)
  • Hopefully make the game more tactical in general.

Note that it does not make it easier for the player, maybe more fun but definitely not easier.
