Looks like I don't even currently have GIMP installed right now due to it conflicting with another program. Until I get that straightened out my troubleshooting will be limited.
Just curious, but does the following file work any better? I just resaved Kenney's file in Inkscape with a larger document size:
If I remember right that was just because of the default page size in GIMP, and if you made a bigger size or moved the graphics around they showed up just fine.
If that doesn't help I can take a look at it later. I am pretty sure I got it to work.
So you say that the first thing you saw when you got to this site was a comment on the Space Merc art asking how the artist wanted to be credited and clicked around and got more confused and then posted this thread? Strange, you started this thread on January 13th, three full days before the Space Merc art was uploaded on January 16th...
But thanks at least for reminding me to donate to the site. It might help offset some of the irrational negativity you are throwing around here.
The site has always been pretty easy to use in my experience.
The username and name in the profile of this new poster match up in Google with someone pushing fat loss, erectile dysfunction treatment and bitcoin generating tips via throwaway websites and YouTube videos, so I don't put much stock in his opinions about this site.
Glad to see it's back. I do hope the team working on it will take a long, hard look at the racist tribal characters and do the right thing and get them fixed or replaced with something else entirely if you can't tone them down. As they are the primary enemy right now it is very incomplete without using graphics that are quite offensive to a large percentage of the public.

I don't know why you guys are having problems. It decompresses with no issues here using 7-Zip and whatever is built into Windows 7.
The ones for sale on the website do have attack animations and others, but I don't see this sprite listed there.
