This whole thread is odd. Why are you posting an image and calling her a harlot?

How do you get a criminal record for generating AI art? That's nonsensical.

Does this have anything to do with game art?

Is this performance art, or an AI poster reporting an AI person for making AI art?

The Mac game came out first.

Ah, OK. I should have realized it came from somewhere because it was so specific. I started with Nethack and missed the actual Rogue.

Love that the 26 monsters line up with the 26 letters of the alphabet, for true Roguelike-ness. I think most of them are obvious but guessed on the rest:

A - Air elemental / B - Bat / C - Centaur / D - Dragon / E - Emu / F - Flytrap / G - Griffin / H - Hobgoblin / I - Ice Elemental / J - Jabberwock / K - Kestrel / L - Leprechaun / M - Medusa / N - Nixie / O - Orc / P - Phantom / Q - Quagga / R - Rattlesnake / S - Snake / T - Troll / U - Umber Hulk / V - Vampire / W -Wraith / X - Xorn / Y - Yeti / Z - Zombie

I see this was changed to CC0. That's extremely generous. Thank you!

And what's the point of responding only with that political statement more than two years after the thread was active? Just say something about the art, or maybe post to an appropriate messageboard. It's very odd adding that here.

I threw in an extra file again. Ants: https://opengameart.org/content/ant-art

As usual it's not part of the competition, just submitted at the same time. In this case I made the art a long time ago but am just using this as an excuse to post it (since it's been three years already and I meant to a long time ago).

Publicity for these can be rough. Part of the problem is the irregular scheduling of it so far. We don't have critical mess yet, I think, to make this fully weekly, but nobody has been able to count on which weeks it is running. I'll try to tighten it up.

Any really old building is going to be so old it's public domain by now. The only thing you might run into is there are some buildings that are new enough to still be under copyright. I know photos of the Louvre with that (relatively anyway) new glass pyramind with it ran into some problems, for instance. The Eiffel Tower also tries to get away with protecting its image by copyright its lighting, so that if you take a ohoto you may not infringe upon the building but would, theoretically, on the way it's lit. Stupid, I know, but France is known for bizarre law cases.

A good roundup can be found on a photography site: http://www.thephotoforum.com/threads/building-architecture-copyright.145723/ As often is the case, the Wikipedia article on the topic seems to be written in such a way as to be useless for most readers. Writing by random collaborations of anyone who feels like writing something can do that.

Looks like a few submissions... good stuff.

I played around with my interpretation of Dracula (and some friends) in https://opengameart.org/content/crypt-of-dracula-nes. I don't compete in the challenge, but I like the motivation to finish something.

My philosophy is that as long as everyone does it and there are no entries submitted outside of the announced time frame (well, can still do a submission that fits any given theme, just can win the challenge with that) that it's all fair. We're encouraging contributions, and it's a free use game art site, so whatever works for someone is OK with me.
