Since there were working builds of the game that used the art, it feels right to give some sort of credit, or to put it conversly, it would feel wrong not to give any mention. I basically got the whole game running using Russpuppy's RPG Tileset, then 'auditioned' many other tile/sprite sets before rolling my own. It was very useful as it allowed me to get the game up and going quickly and try out many different visual styles for it.
Anyway, glad to hear you two are appreciative and approve of my wording as you're both on the acknowledgement list! ;)
awesome! A mac 'option' button, you really did get completist with it!
Puts my low-res set to shame! :)
Cool part is that the third control set posted in the last few days, so there's a lot for folks to choose from up here now.
Quick legal question, what is the origin of the font for all the keys/letters?
PS
Game looks great too!

Well maybe not on the level of the stuff some of the maestro's around here crank out but still plenty hot to my eyes!
Anyway, as someone also working on a 16x16 game, I can say it is quite a challenge to work at that scale, really makes you appreciate the genius of all those NES artists.
Hope that's alright, not sure on the etiquitte for contributing derivative works.
Hope it's alright that I named it broddmin also, can change if you like, I just named it that way for my own use as a simple way to track who I got it from.

In the spirit of sharing, here's my go at, but be warned, I'm no artist... :)
Looks like the J and K are missing from the Lil one. :(
