not sure why it was hard to find. type game art in google and its the top site listed. if you were looking for game art i would think that is what you would search for
you may want to add some kind of symbol next to the characters with permadeath if your trying to allow colorblind people to still be able to figure out things. THey cant see the red but they could identify with a symbol for the permadeath characters.

the effect folder is interesting. are these effects hand drawn frame by frame or was it somehow generated.
